They have different frequencies.

Please note that orange light can have the same wavelength as red light in different types of mediums. The true constant physical difference between the two types of light is their frequency, which is the same in ALL mediums.

A red light will not expose film. It can be used in a dark room while developing negatives. An orange light would ruin the film.

there are 7 colour in visible light ROY G BIV here orange is is the 2nd last colour of the light, red is last colour, in visible light, here wavelenth of orange exist between 590-620nm & red between 620-750nm, pshysical diff is only orange has shorte wavelenth & red have few longer wavelenth then orange, always shorter wavelenth have much energy rather then longer wavelenth, we can say then physical diff is only that orange is much energitic rather then red.

They have different frequencies, therefore different wavelengths and different energies. Orange has a higher frequency and energy than red.
