Democrats must be vocal about their hostility to the war in Iraq so that the US troops will be ordered to return.

First step: get bush out of office.

Hoenstly, that man is the most horrible president. He's the reson we're pouring MORE troops in, even though our timetable stated that ALL troops should be OUT of Iraq by the end of 2006! It's ridiculous. Although, now that Sadaan is dead, things'll either ease up, or get harder.

And don't even get me started on Bush and the environment.

The only person who can stop this is Bush and if Democrats just sit back a little and wait a few months when Bush's plan completly fails then Bush will pull out of Iraq or nuke it. I pretty sure it will be the latter.

They can stop it. The question is, can they come up with a plan of their own? And are they willing to take responsibility for the results of their decisions? If not then they need to let Bush give it a go. He has the ONLY plan for getting our troops out this year with any hope of success.

Good evening to you.

Yes, to a certain extent. They do not have to approve the budget for the new deployment. The president can send troops as Commander-In-Chief ( his military role ) rather than as President ( his civilian role ) but if he tried, even Republicans would pull their support for him.

Unless they have friends in high places, changes are unlikely until 2008.
