There is a lot of good ones, mostly from the 70's. Some still producing.
My favorite is Returned to Forever. The artists were Chick Corea, Lenny White, Stanley Clark, and Al DiMeola.
Mahavisnu orchestra, featuring John McLaughlin.
John Luc Ponty, Jeff Beck (especially Blow by Blow and Wired)(after Frank Zappa, also does rock), Some Billy Cobham (a little funky), Paco de Lucia(sort of Spanish), Gino Vanelli - The Ghist of the Gemini ( most of his other stuff is pop),
Gentle Giant (English Jazz), Satana (Latin jazzy rock) Chuck Mangione (a little mellow), Kenny G (soft fusion), George Duke (a little funky), Herbie Hancock (a little funky), Pink Floyd (acid-fusion rock), Weather Report (a little soft), and Spyrogyra (a little mild).

Most of these artists have solo music careers. These are most of the ones I listen too. (among other things)

Top Cat's suggestions are good. Of his suggestions, my favorite is Blow By Blow by Jeff Beck. Miles Davis fusion is good too. He was an originator. Also, try the Hot Rats album by Frank Zappa.
