My best friend has a 6 year old son, who she thinks the sun shines out of, but he is a very naughty boy who will lie to your face to get out of things he has done wrong,do you think its wrong for me to say to her he needs pulling into line,he causes alot of tension with my 13 year old son and her 14 year old daughter who are best friends also. The mum is always sticking up for him regardless of if he is in the wrong or not and im finding myself having to restrain myself more and more because im afraid if i say something she might get offended, but its making me not want to spend time with them all.

If you say anything, you won't have to worry about dealing with this woman and her 6 yr. old again, she won't appreciate the advice. Your best bet is to stay away from her before you explode and then the friendship will really go down the tubes.
As far as your son and her daughter go, let them hang out at your house and then you won't have to put up with the little brat.
The day will come when this woman will not be able to control this kid and she's really going to have BIG problems. Stay out of it because there is nothing that you can do, she will have to deal with him.

you can tell her but i don't think she's going to be very open to the criticism. i hate it when mothers can see no wrong in there little darlings.
it will really be bad for the 14 year old daughter though if you make the mom mad and then the mom doesn't let the girl hang with your son. then she doesn't have anyone to talk to.

If you start giving Unwanted Advice about her son ( which is really criticism ) you will not have her as a friend ever again
So bite your tongue no matter how hard it is ( although I can understand where you are coming from so to speak )
because she really will hate you because Mums love their kids & will stick up for them no matter what
