Ok, first look and make sure it is PERFUME, not cologne or other weaker versions of scents. A lot of times, we call any scent we are wearing our PERFUME, but it is not. Colognes, eau de toilette scents contain more alcohol; perfume is much stronger & concentrated----huge difference in strength of scent, as well as price!
A dab on a pulse point ( wrist, neck ) should be long lasting.
Also, usually after the initial applying, we get it used to it, and don't smell it as much,,,, ask someone if they still smell your perfume . Oh oh, I almost forgot....my grandmother always put a drop of perfume on a cotton ball, and then in her bra ! she always smelled great and swore that was the trick !

You don't need to do anything to make it stay on longer. Just because you don't smell it anymore does not mean it's not there. You can't smell it, but everyone else can. I was the same way a long time ago. I would add more perfume thinking it wore off, but I was actually adding on too much because the perfume was still there.

Generally if you can smell your own fragrance some time after you've put it on, you're wearing too much! It's meant to blend in with your own natural chemicals n smells. If you're worried, just get someone else to sniff. Nothing worse than leaving a trail or perfume after you've left the room! The final effect of a perfume on you only settles after one hour.
To make it last longer, dont rub your wrists together after you spray, just dab. If you rub, it makes it evaporate and fade faster.
Generally rule - eau de toilette doesn't last as long, its meant to be for lighter day use. Eau de Parfume is more concentrated (hence use small dabs or squirts only) and lasts longer - that's why it costs more.

See if your perfume scent comes in a whole line of other products. Use the body wash, the lotion, the after-shower spritz, etc. Then your smell will go EVERYWHERE with you and won't fade away for a looooong time. If the perfume brand doesn't, then get similar smelling products.
Also, you may be using other smelly products (ex: shampoo, body lotion) that is dilluting your perfume scent.

Tap or spray some of your favorite scent on your pulse points like your wrist, neck, and breast bone. Your body warmth will diffuse the scent over an evening. Remember that your body is made to get used to smells quickly, and even if you can't smell it it is probably still there.

my sister makes her own perfume as a hobby and sometimes sells it to her friends for the extra income...
i learned from her that perfumes are made through mixing of different scented oil extracts. these scented oils in their purest form are very strong so they mix it up more with other liquids such as alcohol to produce more acceptable fragrance and at the same time increase the quantity of the perfume.
ratio of scented oils and alcohol vary in different perfumes.
the higher the concentration of scented oil in the perfume the longer its stays on...
(we tested it ourselves)

Rub the area you're spraying with a little unscented body oil and apply the perfume to that... that makes it "stick" more.

You rub it on your skin. But uhm, you probably don't notice that the smell is still there. Others you walk by would realize you're wearing it right away. Make sure you don't wear too much. Some people hates it!
