Sometimes, I put Geography in that "useless stuff they teach us in school" category, but the shape of the land frequently has the ability to determine what civilizations become great, thus it is linked with history. If you thought about it long enough, you could probably find that it is linked with science and geography pops up in literature a lot also.

The "id " on your question buffels me , I assume is a typo error ?
Any way , assuming you meant "is" ... Geography is important so every one can find they way around , imagine if it never was developed hundreds of years ago , there would be no information and the world would still be flat ...

Geography is important because it helps us understand world history and interactions between societies and why they made those interactions, and understanding world history is important because it helps us understand what worked and didn't work in the past and how we should apply that to present day to our benefit.
