Can anyone give me some ideas please about what to do for a binge eating disorder? what do you do if you feel the urge to binge eat? and what ideas can you give me for keeping it under control. Any websites you could recomend? Thanks

curious father, thanks for the good answer, does living with a husband with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder count? he tries very hard not to be controlling, and is in councelling. But in his ocd mind the only right way of doing certain things is his way. I'm not leaving him, cause he recognizes his behaviour and is getting help.. but I never thought of that before.

Binge eating is a coping mechanism. In order to change the behavior you have to address the CAUSE. What triggers a binge? I am not a psychologist, but I know most eating disorders have psychological roots. I encourage you to find a counselor who specializes in eating disorders to help you overcome yours.
Or, join Overeaters Anonymous for peer support.

Please do NOT simply binge on different foods and think that is a healthy alternative. The binge behavior is the problem, not your choice of foods.

First good job a realizing that you binge eat. Second if you know that your doing it for feeling reasons than first and far most leave the area in which food is in easy reach then if you can call someone who you can vent on and not get any real help if you can't call someone then get some paper and just right anything and everything than come to mind. then if you still fill like eating get yourself an 8 oz glass of water and wait 20 min. to see if you my be hungry. Also make sure you are eating something every 4 hours that way you think you are starving yourself. I hope these ideas help. Also check out the site below form calorie-count

The thing is if you like to binge eat just binge eat healthy .. grab sum fruit or dry water crackers when u feel the need to snack , you could also go to a nutritionist and they will set u on a eating plan.

my first question is do you care what you eat? If not, then grab a head of lettuce or two, and scarf that. but, really, why are you bingeing? get to the root and the symptom of bingeing will go away. is someone close to you a control freak? get that person out of your life.
