If you look at the community guidelines closely, #3
NO CHATTING OR PERSONAL COMMUNICATIONS: You may meet friends or other interesting people on Yahoo! Answers with whom you'd like to engage in personal correspondence. If so, please use the chat option on your profile page, rather than use Yahoo! Answers itself. Questions that are chatty, or attempts to engage others in personal communications, will be removed. Some examples of questions that do not comply with the Yahoo! Answers Community Guidelines are below. These are just a few examples, and we reserve the right to change, remove, or add to the list at any time, without notice:
How are you?
Anyone want to chat?
What's your name?
How old are you?
Do you like my avatar?
What time is it?
Who here likes steak?
How many points do you have?
Who likes Britney Spears?

Sorry to hear that, but I know why you got penalized.
Yahoo Answers is not a board for socializing and people are not supposed to hang out here asking for people to talk with them.
I like to reserve my Abuse Reports to people who fling insults, or Spam. But, one category of Abuse is "Chatting or Personal Communication" so you got reported by someone and Yahoo busted you for it. Next time use email or invite your friends to a forum.

Nothing was wrong with answers. They just took a coffee break to tidy up some glitches.
You will probably get you 10 points back.
