The hpt tells you if there is hcg in your urine or not; it is a yes or no question. A blood hcg level can tell you the exact same thing. But there is another blood test that can tell you exactly how much hcg you have in your bloodstream, which can indicate how far pregnant you are.

HPT stands for Home Pregnancy Test, and it is able to detect the level of HCG, (which stands for Human Chronic Gonadotrophin), which is the name of the hormone found in the urine if you are pregnant.

A home pregnancy test measures the level of HGC (hormone prduced when pregnant) in you urine - it gives you a yes or no answer. A blood test will also measure HGC in you blood but is more accurate as it is able to give a numerical figure as to the amount of HGC in you blood. This can then be interpreted to tell you how far along you are .
