I will tell you.
They seem to think that you are not good enough for their little boy. So they do little things to piss you off and annoy the @$#% out of you so you leave them and they can rescue their little angel from the no good girlfriend she knew you were all along.
But seriously... I have a mother in law from hell. My man is an only child and she drives us both insane. She needs to have an itinerary for everything the guy does.
I can guarantee that she feels like you are not good enough. That he is her baby and feels as if she is protecting him.
The only thing is... you must remember that this is the man u Love's mother. and bitching about her even though he does may get him to defend her. Be careful, be strong and hold out. There are many women in this world that suffer as we do. Do it for all women kind...lol

Not all mother-in-laws are mean to their daughter-in-laws, I'M NOT!! What could have happened that this woman would not be nice to you?? Maybe you should sit down and have a talk with her. There could have been some misunderstandings. At least try before you make your husband chose, that's not a good position to put him in, he may throw it back at you later on.
Be at your best when you are around her and see what happens.
Of course, there are some women that are never happy with anyone that their son may be with and that's a shame. I hope this isn't the case with your mother-in-law. I wish you luck!!

Yeah, this is a mystery to me too. I was lucky my husband was the youngest of 8 children. I think by having so many kids, his mom was fine with any of her daughters-in-law. She was a wonderful woman. My son is 21 and I'm already nervous about him finding a mate because it'll seem like no girl will be good enough for him. haha!
Your husband doesn't have to "choose". You are his wife and his top priority now and he better realize it. Be confident in what place you have in his heart, but at the same time, be kind to his mom even if you have to bite your tongue. As you get older and more experienced with how to deal with her, things might just get better, especially after you start giving her some grandkids to play with.

my MIL thought that only she and her daughter knew what was best for their "boys: I thought it was me until my husbands brothers got married and it was the same for them. The MIL was such a problem that after 20 years we divorced.
I had a hard time keeping him working and not just smoking pot, I just couldn't understand how his new wife did it. He works and has stopped pot.
I finally figured out how she did it. My MIL died before they got married. Why couldn't I have been so lucky!

Because they are no longer the alpha female in their son's lives. They feel replaced by this foul temptress.
