I'm 14 weeks pregnant. Earlier today I got into a really bad fight with my boyfriend (don't worry...no violence and we're fine now) but, it wasn't good because I'm so emotional. I was crying so hard (I couldn't stop for some reason) and I start hyperventilating and had an asthma attack. of course when that happened the fight instantly ended and he helped me get through it...but it lasted for a good 10 minutes. I know I'm pregnant and this SHOULDN'T have happened...but, it did....was it real bad for the baby? I'm worried and I want to get an ultrasound to make sure the baby is ok....is it worth it? Has this happened to you?

Getting upset like that also makes your blood pressure go up which decreases the amount of oxygen that is carried to your baby. Miscarriage can happen. Call your Ob/gyn and speak with the nurse.

Hi sweetheart,
You should avoid getting upset and stressed as much as possable as this can bring on braxton hicks. I went through it when I was 17 with my first child, I had spotting and became dehydrated from crying so much. Try to take it easy, your bound to be 100 times more emotional while your pregnant.

Contrary to the old wive's tales, emotional upset will not cause a miscarriage. But being agitated and anxious for long periods of time can be hard on pregnant women because then they don't take good care of themselves.
There is no way on this earth you can prevent yourself from having emotional ups and downs. It's part of being human. As long as you are safe, a good cry now and then is OK. Just be sure that when it is all over, you spend some time relaxing, eating right, and drinking lots of water.

i would say the baby is fine, getting upset and stressed isnt good while your pregant but if you feel the baby moving around and are hurting you should be alright... if you are that concerned though thats what the docs are for and they will most likely check the heartbeat for you....but you really do need to be carefull stress isnt good

I think your baby will be fine but arguing it not good when pregnant you could go into early labor when further along. If you are very worried I would go to the dr but as long as you were not hit or anything i think u will be fine.

the baby is fine. no need for a scan. you need to stop allowing your self to get worked up or you will have a jumpy skiddish easily upset child. your baby feeds off of your emotions
