Its a logical impossibility to prove a negative.

Well indeed no one can disprove God because he is a being based entirely on faith alone, but I do have a lot of information on discrediting the bible with logical reasoning. Don't think this will discourage most Christian fundies though because if they don’t get your reasoning they will usually spout that the illogical “miracles” were acts of God.

The first way to do this is to always start with Adam and Eve and why all people would have to be inbred then and how inbreeding effects health etc. Next would be the same ordeal but with the Noah’s Arc story. One thing I find annoying though are people who want to discredit the Christian God but have never read the bible (or parts of it) or do not know what the people they’re arguing with believe (even more annoying are Christian Fundamentalists who haven’t read their own scripture themselves yes are devote followers in dogma). Anyway, make note that with 6 people, and 2 of each animal (plus 7 of each holy animal) everything now has to inbreed. This is also ignoring the fact that the Arc in scripture was only a total of 1.5million cubic meters in volume and the WRI and National Geographic state that there is 18 million species of land animals which means there was definitely no room in the bible’s Arc for all of the critters.

There’s so much to argue against, you’ll never be able to get true believers to stop being faithful to their God but you can at least do something like I did and get some Christian fundies to believe in the evolutionary process  Good luck with whatever you use the information for.

You can't prove a negative. How can anyone show proof that something isn't actually there? Think about it. The question is, does anyone actually have proof of God's existence? No. That's why religion hypes "faith" - or belief without tangible proof. It's all just another way to describe "gullible".

There's this human desire to substitute (eventually realized to be imperfect) parents with some other more perfect (super) protector, i.e. God.

People who are truly self confident and understand the above concept don't need or "believe" in God. Perhaps that is proof God doesn't exist. If God truly made all of us, then why did he make some of us who don't believe s/he exists? Just to mess with everyone else who does?

Or maybe this is proof that the devil exists. But if there is a God and s/he is all powerful why put up with an evil underling? Again, just to mess with us poor mortals?

In the end, the concepts involved with the idea of God are contradictory. God, as a concept, is SELF negating.

They say that it is near impossible to prove that something, anything doesn't exist. Noone has solid proof or there would be no debate on the topic. There are some serious arguments out there that would swing any vote away from God's existence though. I took a philosophy paper last year that really opened my mind on the topic. I thought I believed until I considered some facts. I highly reccomend 'The God Delusion' by Richard Dawkins. Fabulous book.

The guy who said the proof is "how did the world start?" is an idiot that is in no way proof just because we can't figure out how this all started doesn't mean some divine being started it. I HATE THAT F-ING "ARGUEMENT". Oh and there really isn't any "proof" that god doesn't exist it is more just a persons ability to see past the ******** that is religion and realize that it is highy unlikely that there is a higher being and always remember there is NO proof of gods existence either. I to am a atheist and if I get any you're going to hell crap... I WON'T CARE!

Imagine the words in a novel written by a person.
We are the words and God is the writer.
Now imagine the words trying to prove that there is no writer.
The only frame of reference that these words have are in the story that the person wrote, hardly the basis of trying to prove that there is no writer.

The problem is that if there is a God, that created this universe and us, he would have to be infinitely greater than us, and he could have created this environment anyway he wanted to. If he wanted to hide himself from us he certainly could have done so. The tools that we call science would not be able to detect God as he would be so far beyond the scope of science that it is safe to say that we will never find the proof to "God does not exist".

The Atheists dilemma is simply this--If he is right he will never have the satisfaction of knowing it, if he is wrong he may come face to face with an awesome and angry God.

As irrational as God may seem to you, it might not be so irrational to hedge your bets a little. i.e. try to appease the God that might exist, who knows he could be a nice guy at heart, even like that Jesus fellow, would that be so bad?

Do you have a proof of "invisible pink unicorn's"[1] non existence?
Do you have a proof of "spaghetti monster's"[2] non existence?
Do you REALLY need Such proofs to know that neither is real?
Why should one look to disprove something that does not manifest itself in any way?
For any reasonable person, if there is no evidence of something, it is presumed to not exist until some evidence if found.
Thus your proof lies in the fact there is no evidence of god, much like there is no evidence of flying Spaghetti monster.

There is no proof other than 1 thing. How in the world did the world start? Its not good proof but the best answer is god did something that made big bang and led to where we are today. Just remember the absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence.

How can one prove that a myth does NOT exist..?? lol I like what Carl Sagan once said:

In science it often happens that scientists say, "You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken," and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time someting like that happened in politics or religion.

I know people who say i will be sentanced to eternal damnation but i say it's all $#@$ and that hell or anything of that kind doen't exist but would say proof is in contradiction you could say people who belive the bible is the word of god are wrong and it is a history and it could have been mistraslated or exagerated, you could say how come some one who belives in god and puts all their faith in to him gets raped and tourtered for years, seen it happen, how come he didn't save her, if you get me on the well he has a plan and all that ****, so if she is a completly good and decent person in the eyes of the christions and has never done and thing wrong why is she haveing to do all that ****. don't tell me it is to make her stronger when they push to a point faith is impossible. god does not exist balance and random do and that is it, i wish i could explane better but i don't have the time.

its called faith...whatever you want to have faith in you go right ahead...but i promise you...you will not know for sure what is real until you die and go wherever you believe in going...i am a christian myself and i understand the contradicting the bible thing (personally i think its because some of the things that have happened in the bible are just so unbelievable that a human could do those things) but i dont think there is any use...i do believe in God and i am not going to force you to believe in anything but i would like you to strongly think about your decision, whatever it may be, and dont completely close your mind to anything...if you feel you need to go right ahead and explore it all until you find something that you have complete faith and trust in...good luck
