All you have to do is remember the word SOHCAHTOA. Say it to yourself several times and you can't go wrong; it has a nice ring to it in my opinion.

"soh" "cah" "toa"

Others have provided mnemonics but it really isn't that hard to remember SOHCAHTOA. sin = opp/hyp, cos = adj/hyp, tan = opp/adj.

Actually I believe that it is:

sin = opp/hyp (not opp/adj)
cos = adj/hyp
tan = opp/adj

I don't have any paticular trick though, I just have them memorized in that order.

Good luck.

I've heard the term socatoa (soak a toe a).

(S)in = (O)pposite over Hypotenuse
(C)os = (A)djacent over Hypotenuse
(T)an = (O)pposite over (A)djacent
