I am fully aware that his draft stock wasn't super high anyway, but how is it that the BCS championship has made his stock drop? Over one game? The kid had a 172.75 QB rating, is 9-1 vs. ranked teams, threw 30 touchdown passes and only 3 INTs!!! Why should he be punished because Tressel had an inferior game plan and his offensive line refused to block anybody. It not right!! Granted, Shady Grinn (Brady Quinn) had a better game against LSU than Troy had against Florida, but he got time to go through his progression and deliver balls free of pressure. Nevertheless, Quinn has NEVER WON A BIG GAME. If you punish him in the draft for his size, I can live with that, but over a single bad performace that he arguably cannot be blamed for? Its not right! He won the Heisman damn near unanimously because of how well he has played and the length of time he has played at this level. He's strong, accurate and knows how to win. I'm asking sincerely. Somebody explain this to me. What is going on?

To scouts, analysts and NFL teams his draft stock might have dropped a little because of his performance in the big game...but draft stocks really go up or down during the scouting combines...to be honest, I don't think Troy Smith is a 1st round talent and will probably be picked somewhere in the 2nd or 3rd round.

See, there is a point you are missing about Brady, he's been pressured all season, because of his terrible O-line, and yet still has way better stats than Troy. Once he got pressure from a good D-line, he couldn't do anything. Brady Quinn was pressured throughout that game. Troy Smith won the Heisman because he played for the #1 team in the country. Now i'm not saying he didn't excell being a QB, but he wasn't/isn't/never was the best player in the country. He got smeered by a fast D, and in the NFL that's all there is is fast D's, so as the say, if you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen. Which is why he'll prolly get moved to WR.

Personally, I think Brady Quinn is a terrible choice for any team who is looking to draft him. He just doesn't seem like that kind of quarterback. JaMarcus Russell is going to have a great pro career, and I think Troy Smith will have an alright career, but you have to wonder if he will be able to compete with a very quick defense which clearly he was not ready for in the BCS Championship game.

I do not think it will dramatically affect his draft status, which as you correctly point out, was already not that promising to begin with. In the end, it's about physical gifts. Guys like Quinn and Brohm are seen as having them. I'm not saying it's fair, but that's the way it is.

yes, troy smith is a good QB. but i think hes too short for the NFL. It hard to look over the line at his height 5'11. I wouldnt be surprised if he moved to a slot reciver

I have said all along that Troy wasn't all that he cracked up to be. It wasn't just him, or just the offensive line, or just the defense, or just the coach to blame. They ALL did the best that they could. They were just outplayed by a team with superior skills. That's the cold hard truth.

you could be right but think about it...in the nfl everyone is way faster and better then in college so if he doest horrible against florida imagine how he will against the charger or the ravens that have a great d...he will get rocked.

ok Im from Baltimore (examine the call) so i've got been given the good answer a million. The Ravens took Smith because of the fact Steve McNair will retire in 2 or 3 years so properly you comprehend. 2. Troy Smith ought to play on the top in a blow out game. And he ought to play in a preseason game. He start up quickly, no longer this year. 3. I cant have faith im gonna say this yet, Boller is extra perfect (for now). Boller is taller, swifter (maybe, no longer useful), better, and correctly regrettably is extra perfect. (OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG =( =( 4. the only reason Troy Smith went in the 5th around (174th basic) is because of the fact he lacks length. an elementary QB in this league is 6'3 - 6'6. Troy Smith is 6 foot. If Troy replaced into Brady's length and Brady replaced into Troy's length. properly Troy might have went in the 1st (best 5 maybe) around, and Quinn might have went in the 5th or later (no Heisemen so......)

i agree..i like him a lot, but it looks like he will be the player that will slide on draft day..every year there is one player that slips down..
