I signed up for the only class available and it was sociology....And i dont know what it is. Can someone tell me what it is the study of?

“What we think, how we feel, and what we say and do all are shaped by our interactions with other people. The scientific study of these social interactions and of social organization is called sociology.” Got that from my sociology book, Sociology The Core 7th Edition.
Basically: How people develop from babies to adulthood?, what is the purpose of jail?, why are people racist?, how people learn?, how people socialize?, why is their deviance and crime?, and a lot more.
The class is very interesting and u will learn a lot of theories from different view points.
