Is there only one person out there meant for us? I don't think so. I think we meet many people in our lives who could be our "soulmate." I know that when you find a soulmate, you know. But just because you lose that soulmate doesn't mean you can't find a new one later on in life.
As Dawson's Creek once put it, "Well, it's like a best friend but more. It's the one person in the world who knows you better than anyone else. It's someone who makes you a better person. Actually, they don't make you a better person...you do that yourself...because they inspire you...A soulmate is someone who you carry with you forever...it's the one person who knew you and accepted you and believed in you before anyone else did...or when no one else would...and no matter what happens you'll always love them. Nothing can ever change that."

It is where you soul is borrowed from a collective energy source, and it has been with many different vessels over the centuries, and the two souls(yours and theres) have been united in lives past, and had love, deep deep love. Romeo and juliet kinda love.
We do not always find our soulmates at the right time, we are not always perceptive enough to pick up on it, but it exists.
In my opinion how you can tell is even with your eyes closed they walk in the room and you get chills. it feels like a water fountain turned into a waterfall. Like a storm approaching, when it gets slightly warmer and nice, you smell the rain and notice it is nearing.
You may have many soulmates, but if you are fortunate enough to meet one, grab on.
But it can entitle you to great pain, depending on their raise and core values. And the vessel (body)may not be what you hoped for.
Good luck

Well there is no way of knowing with absolute certainty if he/she is, "the one." Sometimes, you just have to make a leap of faith. Ask yourself this: Does this person bring out the best in me, and do I bring out the best in him/her? If the answer is yes, then you're off to a good start. If the answer is no, or not sure, then time's a wastin' and your best bet is to move on.
Only time will tell if the person you refer to is your "soulmate." If the love between the two of you endures the test of time,(and I don't mean 2 or 3 years) then it's safe to say that person is your soulmate.

I believe that there are people that we have various degrees of compatibility with, if we are lucky enough to find them. I don't think we have one specific "soulmate" that we have to seek out.
Sometimes you just have to go with instinct about a person. I knew with my husband pretty much right away. We met, dated and a couple of weeks later he proposed. We have been together for over eight years.
Sometimes you just have to take a chance.

It just simply happens, it feels right, it tastes right, it looks right, it's everything right.
Or so says everyone/everything else.
The opinion of soul mates rests solely in your hands. If you believe there is a person out there that was put here on this earth to complete you, then you've answered your own question.

Think of two harps being plucked. Each by itself produces a nice sound. If they are near each other and are out of tune, it hurts the ear. One can force them to play together but it will never be right.
If the two harps are in tune, when they are brought together they amply each other, complement each other, fill in the weak spot in each other. When they are played together by loving and skillful people . . . MAGIC!!

Yes, they have always been around, some way or other... just waiting for us to first become aware of 'ourselves' deep enough , and then 'recognising' them is almost instantaneous.

You will "know" when you meet. Your souls will recognize each other. That person can be a ax murderer any you will "love" then no matter what.
