One of my neighbors lost his home to foreclosure and the police came with a lock smith the bank hired to change the locks and found his body in his former living room with "another victim of capitalism" written on the wall. Do people try to measure their lives too much too social conformity/social standing. I have never meet a person who is down to earth and humble kill themselves. Most people I know who killed themselves over my lifetime (23) are social seeking yuppies who fail and end their lives over it....SAD!!! Why do people kill themselves? Your opinions I gave you mine.

Anybody who believes in hell would never do it. I wouldn't...they have no faith, no belief in God, and lose all hope. I read about alot of situations where people have committed suicide just for whatever the problem was passing, improving, or an error. I think it's a cruel, cruel head trip that satan takes people on...just to get them in hell.

I believe they can think of nothing better to do. When you are down and out it seems like the only way out, but id they only realize that if they are at the bottom, the only other way is UP.

I am all for suicide... You not happy, go for it, just leave everyone else alone and don't go killing 7 family members or the neighbors before you do your self.

The vast majority of people who commit suicide are drunk, or on drugs of some sort. So, what seems depressing or upsetting when they are sober, becomes a huge, insurmountable, and hopeless problem when they are under the influence. There have been at least 7 people - my family members and friends- who have comitted suicide, and all were under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol. None of them were "yuppies" A terrible thing....

They are to cowardly to face life. Life is the biggest gift given to man and a person who ends their own does not appreciate the value of life and therefore can never appereciate anythign else.

Well, you can't really ask them now, can you? Seriously, philosophers have dealt with the for ages. See Camus' Myth of Sissyphus if you want more information.

It's not so much that they want to die, they want to end whatever kind of pain they're in. If only they would wait until it passes, because things change. Yes, it really is sad.
