Yes,
The precedent has been set by the TV show "Commander and Chief." The show died pretty quickly, due to poor ratings (which was a shame). The show's concept was that the president dies and now the female Vice President becomes the president. She isn't taken too seriously and the Speaker of the House wants her to resign (which would make him President).

The White staff was uncomfortable with having a First Gentleman, but they jumped in and called him the First Gentleman. So that has entered the public lexicon, therefore if say Hilary Clinton gets elected then Bill will become the First Gentleman, although he will probably be referred to as former President. If Conndie Rice became President then her husband (I don't know his name) would be the first gentleman.

Probably. Though the thought of changing all of the Presidents's spouses to being called First Mate is one that amuses me.

He'll decide on the title he feels comfortable with.

At this point anybody else being president besides Bush would be an improvement....sorry just heard about his latest mistake.

Yes, he would be called the "First Man." So, if you ever want to stick it to the Man, you know where to look.
