Been in this situation. Talk to your friend without the hubby around. Reassure her that you are very happy in your marriage and have no interest in her hubby. Let her know that you had no intentions of trying to catch his eye. Tell her she is beautiful and that he is stupid for looking at anyone else. After all this... the next time you decide to go hang out, do not wear a bikini. try to stay covered and if he does make a comment about you, even though it is proper to thank someone for their compliment, say nothing or ignore him. Hell even give him a dirty look. This will help your friend see that you are not interested in her other half. Good Luck !

Okay girl, here it is....
He is an asshole, he knew she would get offended and did it for a PUBLIC reaction (a.k.a crying)
No this is not your fault, but you are aiding to it by not addressing it.
You need to tell her that you value her friendship, but don't care for her hubby. That will really ease her mind. But now, when things smooth over and the hubby tries to compliment you again - IGNORE Him or make ref to his wife OR make a comment that your husband would agree. See he is playing head games with her to make her think she is not worthy. If you are better looking then her, he may be using u against her to make her feel insecure (A.K.A. Hot chick in the bakini wants me)
I live with a man like this and you know, I am just as hot as the next MILF but that doesn't matter. It's about the control. I've been with my asshole for 11 years & 3 kids. I would urge her to leave, as I know I'm fed up, and an *** like this won't ever change. Talk to your friend alone and let her know u would never want a man like hers, yours is too good to you. And be short w/ her hubby in the future at all times, if you don't she will think you two are being secretive. Good Luck!

It seems that your friends husband was a bit out of line. He
should keep his comments to himself, and while he's at it try
keeping his eyeballs in his head where they belong! So it
seems your friend has the cannon pointed in the wrong direction
. So tell her that you understand the way she feels, and that you
can ID with her feelings. But the fact of the matter is that it's
you aren't guilty of any thing other than attending their party.
If she can't relate to this then you'll have to tell her that it's not
fair to hold you responsible for her husbands actions. Perhaps your husband's sentiments are justifiable 'gut feeling'
Things will work out. Be honest, and stand your ground!

for starters, you shouldn't go around there for a long while. Keep away from your friends hubby. Let your friend know (again) this is not your fault. Her hubby probably wasn't checking you out (so, please get your head out of your A S S) you probably took it that way because he complimented you. We sometimes "mis-interpret" what others say when they really mean it as something else, nothing but a compliment. It's your friend's choice whether or not she wants to blame you, but your best bet is to keep distance to keep from causing anymore problems between them.

You didn't do anything, so why is it on you to fix it. Your friend's man is apparantly not exactly the cat's meow...she knows it, but is she going to confront him or say "woe is me" with circumstances surrounding his behavior?

She doesn't hate you, she hates her husband's behavior and doesn't see anything she can do about it, other than live with him or get out. Since she's obviously still with him, she's not getting out, so to live with him, she has to deflect her anger to circumstances around him.

BTW, congrats on still being able to wear a bikini after 3 kids. Don't let somebody guilt you into feeling bad about your commitment to yourself.

Your "friend", is a dumb b*tch!!!! Its not your fault that she is married to a total letch. His comment to you was completely innappropriate, and you probably should have left the party. Your stupid "friend", seems to have a problem placing blame onto her husband and divorcing his a** for disrespecting her. Call this woman up and tell her off!!

Tell your friend she has nothing to worry about. And maybe you shouldn't dress like you around your friends husband. Just out of respect for your friend.

she looks at u, sees u may have the better shape, sees that her hubby compliments u, it makes her feel she is less of a person, hurts her ego, her self esteem, so even though u didn't do it on purpose, it hurt her alot.
