question about fruit bugs?

you know those little fruit bugs.we seem to be having a lot in our house.we don't have any fruits and we keep cleaning and cleaning and killing them but we seem to aways having them.how do we get rid of them and how come we seem to get more and more?

If you have any living plants in the house they can be coming from them, they can sour and cause a lot of problems with fruit flies. Also, the sink drain can cause the same thing. Take soapy bleach water, hot and pour it down the drain at night and don't pour anything down it until morning. You can also use vinegar...if you have a garbage disposal make ice cubes with vinegar in the water and then put them down the disposal. I also keep a spray bottle with half vinegar and half water for spraying counters and anything else all summer. It keeps ants and other small insects under control in the kitchen without poison. Good luck. If a plant is the problem it is probably ready for the trash. You can try changing the soil but, it may be rotten at the roots.
