I live in Sydney and i have to be in Adelaide for a days work. I need to make the most of this opportunity and have four spare days at hand. Can someone please tell me the places i can see in this journey in an economical manner. Some people also told me that the Greyhound takes the freeway and not the Great Ocean Road and its really boaring. Please advice.

i have done the greyhound trip from Adelaide to Sydney and return.... trust me..... it sucks! It was a 24 hour trip, and was a rather roundabout trip to get from A to B, and did not pass through anywhere particularly noteworthy as far as 'sightseeing' goes. If you want to be able to see places... your best option would be to drive.... The Great Ocean Road will offer lots more to see... if finance is an issue, there are plenty of caravan parks along the way for cheap accomodation if you do it over a few days.

Oh man, just reading that gives me flashbacks to the HELL that is the 24 hours bus trip from Sydney to Adelaide. There is nothing to see as they go straight through the middle (Hay Plains is a "highlight"!) and they stop at huge petrol stations absolutely everywhere along the way.
If it was me, I would take the train to Broken Hill, which is such a cool place as well as being really cheap. Then get a bus from there into Adders.

Suggest to fly, there are cheap flights at the moment to Adelaide, and there is lots to see..Glenelg is a great spot. Have done the bus trip and will never do it again, also have trained to Albury and then bus, also will never do this again.
