make sure you always update your virus protection.

No, you dont' uninstall the old protection. All anti-virus programs have new virus definitions (updates) available every few days or so. They are designed to constantly keep updating the old virus database file (by appending the update with the old info, or simply overwriting it). Actually there probably isn't an option to uninstall an old virus definition.

No, virus updates is just the latest information on the latest virus protections developed to help in the protection of your computer.
Think of viruses like "diseases you can catch...how many are there??Lots, right? And they are always coming up with new remedies to keep you healthy.
Same with the updates.....additional knowledge for the virus protection program. Just keep it updated...and you will be protected to the latest bug.

ur question doesnt make since, cuz for one ur talkin about virus protection (software) and then ur talking ab out a virus up date. if ur installing 2 different kinds of virus software then u need to uninstall the old one. for example mcafee and nortons dont run 2gether and will make u have to restart your computer in safemode to uninstall one of them.

once your virus software is installed it will auto update it self either on a dialy or weekly basis.

when you update an antivirus (or any other program), it only downloads some files and adds them to the existing software. you don't need to uninstall the old antivirus.

either that or just install it as if you are to renew the software. I did it and it didn't come up with any errors.
