Do you think that an additional 20,000 more troops would make a big difference on the current situation?. The fact is that the number of U.S. troops in 2003 was higher than what it is now plus the 20,000 troops. If nothing changed in 2003, how can we expect something to change now?.

The very sad thing is that as I listened to Bush's speech, he is now only speaking of "U.S. troops". He never mentioned "coalition troops" or "our allies". It seems that the U.S. will now be alone in prosecuting the war. There had been no statement of support from Tony Blair, and whether he will also commit additional British troops. It looks like Mr. Blair had already realized the outcome of the war and jumped off the sinking ship.

GW Bush is an embarrassment to humanity. A war built on lies, a war that most of the entire world objected to! And yet the American people voted for him twice!!
Thank God I am a proud Canadian, and I can hold my head up high that our government would not support a war based on complete fabricated BS.
Regardless of what a psycho Sadam Hussein was, there are plenty of nutty dictators all around the world. Does that mean the Americans have the right and obligation to go declare war against all of these unsavoury types of government?
Does it give a country the right to fabricate stories of weapons of mass destruction, to lie openly and repeatedly, in order to invade another country and declare war?
All to avenge Daddy's failure.
How very, very sad, and morally bankrupt.

Thank god that 1) Democrats have more say-so over what happens, 2) 2008 will be here in a year.

Sad, pathetic, egotistical man, he did mention this morning in a news report exact words that were printed "He understands that the safety of the nation and his legacy is all on the line here". That he was concerned with his legacy in the same breath of safety of the nation is mind boggling.

I don't think anyone would object to Bush sending in more troops if he had a winning plan. The problem is that he appears to have no plan whatsoever.

Bush good, you bad. Why don't you see if the troops have some room and they can explain to you why America, and they in particular, are going to Iraq. I'm sure they would be glad to show you around as well, and maybe you can pitch in and lend them a hand in their noble efforts! Or maybe you would rather hide behind your computer and dream up reason #127,487,947,001!
