I personally use Graviola.
It's an Amazon Rainforest Herb that's been used for centuries for its calming properties. It also supports healthy cell division, which is good news against cancer. It's also the only thing I've found to truly work, and I've tried quite a few different supplements.
Many people suggest Valerian root, but I personally had a few problems with this. It made me kind of high strung and nervous feeling, which is the exact opposite of what I wanted. Most people don't have this problem, though, it was just one adverse reaction, in my case. Lots of people use it as a sleep aid.
Sipping hot chamomille tea can help, too, but Graviola is the best thing I've found so far. When I have a full supply, I take a few every day, and it just seems to kind of slow down my thought process... my mind tends to wander quite a bit, ADD-style, but it doesn't seem to happen when I'm taking Graviola. I just feel kind of peaceful and Zen-like.

Valerian
Hops - drink a beer for the quick version
Rescue remedy
I don't know much that vitamins are "good for nerves", however, magnesium is recommended.
There are kava kava and many ayruvedic herbs like shankpushpi that are excellent in this regard.
Oats are also recommended. Some herbal psychologists recommend eating oats daily, a cookie, oatmeal, etc...
Vitamin A -- like in CodLiver Oil (very effective in nerve relaxation).

There is a liquid that I used to take when I was in college that really did the trick for me. It was called Bach's Rescue Remedy, and it was fantastic!
I would put a dropper ful under my tongue, and it would make me feel much better in just a few minutes. Not groggy or sedated. Just less edgy. It is safe to use on pets too, and I sometimes use it on my chihuahua since he is notorious for the shakes!

Magnesium. There is a product called "Calm" that you put in hot water and drink. It comes in pretty good flavors and loosens your muscles and calms your nerves.

Rescue Remedy helps with anxiety. I used to take Vit B in liquid form called "Liquid Health". It is orange and can be put in oj if you would like. It helped me a lot with stress. (I started taking Vit B because I got shingles and the doc said it was from stress)
Try herbal teas as well. Those help me, esp. at night .
