3. 7(x+2)

4. b(c+d)

Thanks!

NOTE: Again, this is that weird algebra where you don't know what the variable's worth are.

Thanks!

The distributive property of multiplication means that the product of a number and a sum of two (or more ) other numbers is equal to the sum of the products of that number and each of the other numbers.
A ( B + C) = AB +AC
or as in 4. b (c+d) = bc + bd
3. 7 (x + 2) = 7x + 14
2. 4 (y + z) = 4 y = 4 z
1. 2 (3 + 8 ) = 6 + 16 = 22

The first one should be done using bedmas but...just multiply the number out front with each number in the bracket.

2(3 + 8) = 2*3 + 2*8 = 6 + 16 = 22

4(y+z) =4y + 4z

4 (Y+Z) = 4 x Y+ 4 x Z

7 (X+2) = 7 x X + 7 x 2

B (C+D) = B x C + B x D
