Well we have never done that before..It is going to be a very violent year ahead... Troops embedded in Iraqi divisions... battalions of 600 men.... Troops even more so in harms way...

All this with fresh cash, more tax payers money.

I am sorry but I think he has lost it.

You know I have respect for you. I do have to point out though that quitting this now is not a viable option. For months, all I heard was how the President can't admit to making a mistake. He did it tonight. Heck, I know we were going about this wrong 3 weeks after Saddam was toppled. I truly am sorry it took this long to adjust. But I have to give the man credit for his statement that the blame for the stalled effort rests with him and him alone. That said, our only alternative is to take it to the insurgents at a higher level and finally allow our kids to do what they are trained to do and stop trying to fight a sensitive and caring war. Honestly, many of our newly elected Democratic leaders have made some impressive remarks regarding the war. Some...well, less than impressive to me. But the fact remains that we are knee deep in this and walking away now would be a horrible mistake given the image it would convey to the crazy radicals. Are we so concerned about the dollar figure more than the fact...and it is a fact, that to turn around now would make the sacrifice of our honored dead meaningless? He has changed tactics as needed. Yes, not soon enough, but this isn't the kind of war our people have had to fight before. NVA were much easier to identify than radical Islamics and insurgents. This is new ground and my feeling is that we have made progress and will continue to as long as we remain fluid in our methods.

particular. it is greater efficient to handle Iraq now collectively as our troops are over there. to tug out like the libs choose, then having to deliver our troops there a 2d time is thoroughly pointless. If we did pull out like the libs choose, then we'd maximum actually ought to redeploy our troops returned over there returned 'reason the job may well be left unfinished and unsettled. we ought to constantly persist with the right here and now and end the job. we gained't go away till the rustic can stabilize itself, the Iraqi troops being knowledgeable so they are in a position to deal with issues on their very own and the Iraqi government is in a position to take administration. till there is fulfillment in those arenas, we ought to constantly handle the present concern and do what's ultimate for the Iraqi human beings and their usa. Bush is a huge president and that i stand at the back of him each and each of ways! i'm no longer a 'quitter' as are the liberals.

The troops can come home when the Iraqi military is ready to take over. Why you people oppose getting them up to speed ASAP is beyond me.

I think we all have lost it, lost because nobody REALLY knows what to do. I mean if the insurgents and "terrorists" were really smart they would stop attacking and just wait and we would pull out. Should we pull out of Iraq? What would happen then? Would Iran invade Iraq? They would love to. I'm not sure what the true answer is.

Al-Sadr needs to know that he doesn't run the country. Use our troops to break his back, then leave.
