How do you guys feel what president VBush spoke about? Putting more than 20,000 troops in Iraq? I am just currious how everyone feels about all of this.

If we leave without soundly defeating the terrorist agents and seeing that the duly elected government can secure its own borders not only will it represent a defeat but it will ultimately result in an Iraq that is far worse than when we arrived.
We should, in my opinion, apply the necessary military force to overwhelm and completely subdue an enemy that takes delight in dying while killing men, women and children of those whom they hate namely everyone who is not like them.
We must finish what we started, historically, I believe that overwhelming force would achieve the results we need and with minimal casualties on ours and the Iraqi's part.

I have a whole list of the madness of Iraq.
1) how do they try people for terrorism, and I mean how do they really know!
2)Bush says the Suni and Shiite want to live together peacefully, but the majority of each religion want more power to themselves.
3) Bush says that if we fail in Iraq, it is devestating what could happen to the U.S. There is no prooven link between Iraqui Terrorism and U.S. Safety!!!
4) He didn't once mention debates and peace treaties. I believe that the only way we will win Iraq is to debate, argue, talk, but war (as we have tried for almost 4 years) isn't working and there must be another way.
5) A quote from Bush, "Failure is unacceptable ... We will prevail." we don't know that yet and we might and probably will have to face the failure.
In all, I think that is a waste of U.S. citizens and imigrants. Bush should either not send any troops, or he should send a great deal MORE. It isn't enough of a dent to change the course of the war. I agree with many speakers on CNN, including a U.S. General. If we send more troops in Iraq, we are sending a message of full dedication. We need Iraq to take some responsibility and Iraq will have to face the future problems when we leave. They can't expect us to sepnd all our time there. I believe the war in Iraq was a big waste of money and we should have focused on Africa and its people who are dying by the MILLIONS because of AIDS and the Genecide of Darfur.

The White House, Washington DC, USA.

Oh, sorry I thought you wanted his address!
Seriously tho, the 20,000 troops idea is madness, it's just delaying finding a workable solution to this whole mess. They will either have to pull out or keep sending more troops and this is not just costing money but lives on all sides. I can't see how this action will help things at all.

More deaths of US Troops and Iraqi civilians will occur with this increase. The question I have is what is our purpose in Iraq at this point in the game? The one part of the speech I enjoyed was my nostolgic thoughts of Max Headroom as I listed to the eloquent way our president speaks.

As long as they are not from the UK, then I do not care any more - the more troops he uses to control that can of worms, the less likley he will have any left over to invde any more innocent countries.

Don't get me wrong, I would not wish death on anybody, but I hope all 20,000 troops have a real awful time, minor injuries and all, because that will be 20,000 less idiots to vote for another idiot come re-election time.
