I agree with koneko_sutano.
You can't really tell if someone is pretentious if you don't know them. They may SEEM it, yet it is just a matter of opinion.
The frontman of Muse is Matt Bellamy. In an interview he said that people thought he was pretentious, yet he denied this saying that he didn't think he was cooler or better than anyone.
So how can you judge?

I could never get into Bob Dylan, as great a songwriter as he is. I don't know if I would say he is annoying or pretentious though.
