Always ask your doctor when pregnant, but I will let you know what my doctor said for me (I'm 26 weeks along.) I was told to take Monistat 3. She said that Monistat 1 may not do the trick because of how crazy our hormones are now and I might as well not torture myself with Monistat 7 if I didn't need to. It worked well for me. But every pregnancy is different. I just called when I suspected a yeast infection and the nurse called me back and told me what to do. This would be the best bet for you. I've heard bubble baths can cause bladder infections, but it may also cause yeast infections, not something I've heard before. I use body soap for my bubble baths because I was getting many urinary tract infections and my doctor told me to not take anymore bubble baths (I was really bad at this though, I took one almost every night...I love my baths.)

Listen up, I've been struggling with this issue for a year. Here's the naturopathic approach (it's healthier for your body than the over the counter stuff AND it will save you TONS of cash over your lifetime)
Step 1: Take a large clove of garlic and peel it.
Step 2: Insert at bedtime. Remove in the morning (you CAN get it out, I promise.) You may need to repeat this treatment for 3-6 nights depending on the severity of the infection.

I've also heard that plain yogurt is effective, but I've been successful with the garlic approach.

By the way, bubble baths can absolutely cause a yeast infection. So can ultra tight jeans and synthetic panties.

I know what a terrible problem this is to be plagued with, hope you're feeling better soon.

If you cannot take the OTC stuff you can try to use plain yogurt as the cultures will kill the yeast. You can also take acidopholus, which can be found in the vitamin aisles or a health food store to reduce the yeast in your system. These are generally safe to keep yeast at bay if you can't take any medications. Discuss that with your caregiver first. As far as bubble baths, I don't know that they do cause any yeast infections, but if you have sensitive skin they may irritate it.

You should probably check with your OB. However, a good yeast preventative is acidophilus. My OBs nurse recommended it to me when I was pregnant - and that was 26 years ago. You can get it at the healthfood store, or in the pharmacy dept. of your grocery or drug store. It is one of the good bacteria and helps to restore balance to the intestinal tract. Also, unsweetened yogurt is an excellent source (Dannon is a recommended one - has live acidophilus). You don't want sugar, as sugar and starch feed the yeast!). Anytime I take antibiotics, I take 3 acidophilus capsules daily and have never had a yeast infection in all these years.

You can use Monistat 7, I have used it before while pregnant. It was Dr. reccommended. Don't take anything oral though, that may have complications. Consult your Dr. for advice. I have heard that Bubble bath can lead to yeast infections, due to the harsh chemicals or something like that. Good luck.
