Sent you an IM.----- Depends what kind of seed you are talking about. If it's a true "old" seed, it shouldn't be hard to discover. All the above suggestions are good. But---- IF it's a hybrid you may never get what you think you have. The plant will come up and grow but the product you end up with could be completly different from what you wanted.

try putting them in a small bowl with a piece of paper towel in the bottom and a half inch of water...set it in a sunny window. After 10 days if there is no sign of sprouts, throw them out. Old seeds dont usually germinate..they die

first you need to see if any of them are good or too old to grow. by placing a few in a moist layer of paper towling. if most grow, go ahead and plant em, if not, throw away. most times they are good for the following year, as long as they have been kept in good condition away from excesive heat and moisture.

Soak them overnight in a glass of very warm water.Works for me!
