Very Good question....I can't wait to see the responses for this question!!
Sorry, I didn't take this question so literally. I don't believe in drinking and driving either.
The question still gives you food for thought!!

You need a drivers license to buy liquor to prove you're of age to buy the liquor.
And bars have parking lots because if you drink more than you can handle, you should be smart enough to sober up before you get in the car to drive.
Plus you could always call someone else to come get you if you were too drunk to drive by the time the bar closed.

The irony is overwhelming, i know, but you need a drivers license to buy liquor as a validation of age, and bars have parking lots so you can park your way of getting there i.e. a car.

The driver's license shows that you are of age to purchase the liquor. Think about it, you do not "need" a driver's license to purchase liquor, you do need to have something that is state or government issued that can verify your age.

The parking lot at the bar is for all of the designated drivers and taxi cabs to pick people up, when they are too drunk to drive.

You can drink and drive- just not in excess.
Also not everyone drinks (hence the designated driver that needs tha parking lot)
And you don't need a drivers license to buy liquor- just prove your 21 a State ID does that too.
Sounds like someone may be mad they got a DUI?

Designated Drivers. and you need a driver's license to tell the clerk your age and a parking lot-designated drivers.. and just because you are at a bar, doesnt mean you have to drink. a glass of wine is still ok to drive. like football games, u can watch them at a bar with friends without having to drink so much you cant drive! be responsible about it.

I DON'T THINK SO! Or i know everytime somebody would like a drink or jst go tot the bar everybody can just walk! yeah hello kind of a little bit obvious. everytime you drink doesn't mean you have to get drunk!

So that they can see if you are old enough to buy beer, and u can drive with it, u just cna't drink it or have it open. And about the parking lots, so the designated driver can park, also, you don't have to drink above the legal limit to drive.

dumb question.
