I've always been a bit of a hippie and want to go greener but I'm having a hard time doing it and am not sure where to start. I'm 15. Can anyone give me any suggestions?

Your 15 and wanting to be a hippie. Well...I really don't know what to say, but I know your not going to like my answer, but to me it stands true...there are no more hippies' today. Many of us might of been hippies at one time, and if they are out there...then their living in a commune...being isolated from the public. Just because a person wears leather, biker pins & patches doesn't make them a biker...so in the same token, just because someone has long hair, tied died shirts, and beads hanging up instead of curtians doesn't make them a hippie. Back in the 60's "hippie generation" I could hitch-hike from the east coast to the west coast in 4-5 days with $5 in my pocket...and be taken care of very good, but today it would take me just about all day to hitch-hike 120 miles. Back in the 60's there was much more "LOVE", "PEACE" & "UNITY". Woodstock was a prime example of this, cause their was over 300,000 people at Woodstock for 3 days and not one fight, that is unheard of today. They tried to have another Woodstock maybe about 8 - 10 years ago and there was a lot of violence there, burning a car and knocking over speaker towers. I left you 2 websites at the bottom...one is about Woodstock, and the other is a Hippie quiz to determine how much a hippie you are, which might be fun to take. The only thing I can say to you is to look up different things on the internet, look at pictures, and try to read things that people wrote concerning hippies. The only reason why I think you might be having a hard time is because there's no-more hippies around to set an example for you. Well I just hope the websites help you a little. "Peace"
