My hubby and I were both in our mid 30s when we married each other (neither of us was married before). We married because we loved each other and wanted to make a commitment to one another, in front of God and everybody, that we were going to be there for each other through thick and thin. Have there been rough patches? Heck yes! But love isn't just a feeling. It's a commitment; a decision; a promise. We are still together (14 years now) and I wouldn't change it for the world. He is my friend, my lover, my partner. I know that no matter what, I have someone in my corner and he knows the same thing about me. It's a great feeling to know you are loved enough and that you love someone else enough to make that promise to stand by each other forever - even when the going does get rough.

...hmm..I don't get it either, lol, and never even thought about it.

I guess we don't need to spend our money on the wedding day or rings or anything like that to show how much people love each other.

Because they love each other AND think they are going to stay together their whole life.

But, you know, you don't have to! No one is forcing you!
