Question for mediums, I am looking for advice about things both myself and family have seen in our house.?

I have lived in this flat for 25 years and since a young age have seen people, shadows, a black dog moving around our house. These are often seen in the living room, hall our middle bedroom and my bedroom, Im seeking to find out what this is and what they want. There seems to be several different indviduals (spirts) moving around the house
I have tried to find history on this house but as yet have been unable to find anything.
Can anyone help?

To those who say i should go out more or ask if i take drugs. I do go out a lot, i have a lot of friends. and no i do not and have never taken any drugs. All of these sightings have been seen at different times of the day and by several different people therefore if im mad so are they.

Im no medium, im just receptive to things like this...
if they havce never tried to do anything to you or your belongings then-
First they may not be ghosts, second if they are the dont necesserily want anything from you.
My first point is because if the house is old then it is a well documented phenomonem that walls soak up raw emotion, i mean that if there has been regular fits of despair, extasy and things like in the building's past, then you may just be picking up on them from the house itself in the form of odd noises, and shadow figures etc.
My second point is that they may just be the shades of people who owned the house before you, and one dog, who are going about actions they did when they were alive, and can no more hurt you than see you at all, they become just oddities of the house and you should probobly just ignore them.
If they were active spirits of people who wanted to contact/hurt you they would be doing a hell of alot more than they are doing now believe me! My advice to you is to just ignore them like you would a piece of furniture. It is a fact of existance that these things exist, just live with it ;p

You'll find this with most older, lived in house (also with new houses because of the builders or neighbors too =/). There are many ways to clean a house in general (some of which I mention in this answer if you'd like http://ca.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070106115450AAPzoME (keep in mind that this situation seems to be very different from hers but the general things like the incense and the salt still apply)).

A lot of the time you find that spirits are lingering around the house unable or unwilling to move on for a variety of reasons.

Before you go to sleep at night close your eyes and try to relax (if you've done any meditation and such try getting to a deep relaxed state). Ask in your mind for any of your relatives or friends that have passed on to help these spirits to move on themselves (if you don't have anyone that you were close to you could ask your guides and guardians if you believe in such things (if you're catholic you could pray to your patron saint)). You should be able to do the same for the dog in the house as well.

On the other hand, it's entirely possible that you're seeing some of your relatives (and old pets) checking in on you from time to time and you're just sensitive enough to see them. If that's the case then I wouldn't worry.

I can help with this, my family has had experience with this kind of thing. You're not mad, nor is anyone else who has seen it. You said you currently live in scottland. there are repeated ghost sightings in scottland and ireland. it may be that these spirits you see don't know that they are dead and they are going about their everyday lives, it may be that they are restless souls who are lost and can't find the light or the way and need guidence. I wouldn't recomend using a wedgie board, those things bring bad omens and make those spirits unfriendly. I have never actually seen or heard a ghost before but i would wak up at night feeling like there was another presence in the room with me. Now my question for you is have they ever tried to harm you, your family, or friends?

A true medium will help the ghosts pass over. They are grounded as they have not passed on to spirit and that is why they are classed as ghosts. Their time is over lapping with our time and that's why you see them in certain areas of the flat. To them they carrying out their everyday routine and possibly are not even aware that you live in their house that has been converted in to flats. To find a good, true medium will take a bit of working out. The best place to go would be to your local spiritualist church. They will be able to introduce you to an experienced medium that can help the ghost pass over to spirit.

Try looking at websites such as GENUKI. With a bit of searching you will be able to locate your town and your property. The website can give addresses for certain towns dating back to the 1700's.

I actually believe you and I think maybe you should see a good medium where you live. also some of the answers are very good. Gee thats very interesting. Go speak with the real estate agent who sold the house. Speak to the council and then chat with some of your elderly neighbours as well to get some history. Also the cemetry might be able to help.

the black dog is more than likely a protection spirit, I used to live in a house where the spirit of a house cat would walk up and down the stairs to my sons room, when they were young, look in on them, and walk back down the stairs, just to make sure that all was well with them. the dog more than likely has nothing to do with the other spirits. there are many kinds of spirits, to name a few..neutral spirits that either attach themselves to a particular home or a particular piece of furniture...they can pick up on any energy that has been in their midst....sometimes a piece of furniture for instance, will have to be cleansed, and then given away (which will not affect the next owners).... there are guardian spirits, which seem to take refuge in the corner of home, living rooms in particular, there are black energy spirits, which can be any shade of grey to black, these spirits are most likely caused by the energy that has been "left over" by previous tenants, or energy that has been left over by those who have lived on the "land" previous to you, could be hundreds or thousands of years ago........also, you may be seeing a spirit guide, the dog could and very often is a spirit guide, also an individual who has passed that was close to you...........they want nothing, but for you to know that they are there.......and for some reason, they seem to feel very comfortable, showing themselves to you.

I not quite sure what information you're after i.e. info on the house, possible spirit activity or developing your mediumship.

Nevertheless I would suggest contacting the SNU as they have a number of 'Phenomena Officers', you will probably need to speak to some from the Scottish & Irish District Council to see if they've appointed anyone to this position. At the very least if you email them at [e-mail] they should be able to advise you.

I can help. but i need more information, and details about the conditions and events around the sightings.

what was the weather like, do you see any paticular apprition durring any certain weather conditions.

does some sort of misfortune happen after a certain sighting.

do any of them seem to cause an irrational sense of fear.

Have you burnt any White sage or insence in the house, and if so did the activity die down for a few days, or remain the same?

the dog is kind of a friend, but has other business, he will not hurt you.
an he´s not connected to the other people. he´s a lonely one. looking for some answers he can´t find. and you can even try to play with him, but not everyday. he´s in despair.
doesn´t tell me why. if you treat him right he could leave at least for some time. wants to go himself. somewhere.
