Ok, I don't mean to be gross but my toenail fell off last night and I have no idea why. I do not have a fungus, I didn't stub it or drop anything on it, it didn't turn black or anything and it didn't hurt. I just took my sock off and it was just hanging there by a little piece of skin.
I do run, and have heard of this happening to runners, but I don't run THAT much (about 6 miles a week) and have only read that when they fall off on runners they turn black first and mine didn't. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

Ooh that happened to me, but I had stubbed it really hard a week before and it fell off at my friends house. It's not fun. Were you wearing any different type of sneakers that might have bothered your toes when running? Or you might be lacking a vitamin: do you have a lot of protein and calcium? I would make sure you get a lot of protein and calcium into your diet, just so it doesn't help again. I'm no doctor; this is just what I think the problem may be. Hope it helped!
