Writing can be a good way to expand one's knowledge. Some would say it's easiest to 'write what you know' but who knows all they need to know? Why not research the reason many people oppose embryonic stem cell research and why many more support adult stem cell research? Many think these two are the same issue, but there's a world of difference between them when ethics are the issue. People need the info. In the last couple of days new info is out that the amnionic fluid around a 'to be delivered' baby can benefit in stem cell research and therefore both the baby's and the 'sick' person's lives are spared. I'm told no positive benefit has ever been found for using embryonic stem cells but adults can use their own stem cells or other adult stem cells for illnesses. Also cord blood can be saved at a live birth with stem cells for later use. The ethical issue regarding embryonic stem cell usage would be, "Is it right to take a life of an innocent human baby to save the life of an older person?" Usually, traditionally, societies have generally thought it important to protect the voiceless, helpless, etc.
Hope you enjoy your research and find the study informative to both yourself and those who read your paper.

I know what you could use for a title if you live outside of MI?
Use your city and then title it:
(City), a Vivid Look Through an Invisible Glass Ceiling
I used that one for my college English paper and got an A. You just have to find your topics that you think should be exposed or those that are ignored and make it about that.

How about this: Women, Magazines and Cancer. What are the top cancers for women? (Probably breast and lung.) What are the statistics for these cancers? Compare women's magazines (you can get them from your mom or the library). How many have articles on breast cancer and how to detect it? How many ads are there for cigarettes? How many articles are there on lung cancer and how to detect it (probably none, because they make money from cigarette advertising).
