When you stuck it in, did you get the offset prongs in the correct slot, and did you turn the bulb to engage the prongs? If it is a two fillament bulb, the prongs on the side are offset, whereas the prongs on the single filament bulbs are aligned.

i mechanic for a living,,and the socket may be bad or rusted out on it,either that or your trying to put the wrong size of bulb in it,,but usually it is the socket that causes this to happen,also check and make sure both of the little prongs on the bulb are good ,sometimes new ones are defected,,and wont fit right,,good luck,,hope this help,s.

push it in and turn to lock it in, and before you button everything up check to see if it works as the bulb has to go in only one way to work properly but it will sometimes go in 2 ways.

well you must try to put the bulb into the correct hole and you have to push and turn to seat the bulb -- so that it will make the proper connection......

Most of these have to be pushed in and turned to lock in place. Did you do that?
