it seems that american politicians would rather meddle in affairs that are not their own instead of dealing with real issues at home. if there was a way to erradicate war machines, there would be enough to help out the struggling programs and people in the country. otherwise, if the u.s. continues on its path, it will only deconstruct what it once was and stood for. the u.s of today is not nearly what it was when it was first created. the dream fails when it can no longer support and care for its own people.

what can we do to prevent the fall of a nation, a nation in which so many stand for, dream about, and attempt to achieve their goals?

Absolutely, although I still would like to see Osama apprehended. I think we should let Syria and Saudi Arabia resolve the issues in Iraq like they have offered.

We are really overextended this time. The Saudis have paid for half of this war. If they call in the loan, our economy would crumble. The cost of one day of the war would be enough to immunize every child in America. For the cost of one month of the war, all educational loans could be retired. We need to clean up our own backyard first. Look at New Orleans, about as dangerous as Mogadishu! And there we are again fighting their war for them. All of these resources are just money down a rat hole. We will never see one dime of benefit from any of it, and we will be very lucky if Iran doesn't decide to get even for our support of Iraq.

Well if you were walking down the street and saw someone being mugged what would you do?

If you heard your neighbor beating his wife, or her beating her children, would you make a phone call?

If you saw an old man stumble in the street,
a child lost and crying for it's parent, etc

What would you do?

I agree we should take care of our own, but we should also reach out when we can.

Of course I am not talking about Iraq, because we were only self serving in that effort, while many others dictators murder their people on lands with no oil...

i agree that we should help our own before any other country or people. our country may be corrupt but no more than any other. our president does not have multiple compounds with gold toilet seats. our people are not starving to death in the streets. are you saying that the u.s alone is responsible for the problems that other countries are having? blame your leaders not ours for the problems in your country.

part of what we can do is support our country and not jump on the liberal band wagon by hating your own country. my country pisses me of sometimes, but i would fight and die protecting it. do you really think the grass is greener else where?

If we do "stay out of other countries" as you ask, We would face problems later that your children and grand children will have to deal with.
People who don't believe in our values would soon be coming to OUR country to cut the heads off of your children and grandchildren.
You do not understand what we are trying to do in these "other countries" It would take another act like Sept. 11.01 to wake people like you up again

It's funny how we're always the first people everyone asks for help, but we're also the first they blame.

Who was first after the tidal waves in Indonesia? We were.
Who sheltered Europe for over fifty years from communist domination? We did.
Who rebuilt Europe after WW2? We did.
Who sends the most aid to Africa and Asia? We do.

The US has problems, but the rest of the world has much bigger ones.

because this is how america has become so powerful. this is an old tactic, Go into someone elses lands steal their things, make them poor. keep them poor. america has done this for so long that now we have so many enemies that if we don't keep ourselves in their lands now they will attack. What goes around comes around, and every empire must fall. Power is a two edge sword.

Ever think that its the oil that bush wants? His own father said it just before the gulf war. "its about jobs... or, its about oil" the bush family has long been involved with companies who do slant drilling into Iraq. Gotta protect those interests.

I am really looking forward to the next presidential election. Hopefully, we can start fresh, with better ideas. I hope we can fix the quagmire that Bush has gotten us into.
