What I meant by ignorant was ,none of them could read or write musical notes. It certainly was no putdown.

They weren't ignorant FYI. They could play instruments as well as almost anyone. Even when they seperated they made good music. John Lennon with his Imagine song and The Xmas song and such. Paul McCartney with his Another Day, Band on the Run, With A little luck. They were just GOOD. the only word. GOOD. Even if you don't listen to the beatles, everyone knows who they are...

Well, they weren't really musically ignorant...read something about their early days...Paul John and George all were in schools taking music classes...its just wonderful karma they all got together. Unless you were around in the early 60's I know it's hard to appreciate, but believe me, it changed teenagers life forever...made us stronger, happier and more able to understand the world. I don't know where I would be without that experience

They actually weren't first signed because of their talent. The guy who first signed them said that they weren't all that good but he fell in love with their personalities. I guess daring to be different by being only yourself is the lesson here.
