America blames Bush for Iraq, but Congress had to vote OK for us to be able to go. Many democrats, including John Kerry voted for the war in Iraq, yet the Democrats try to push it all off on George W. and the Republicans. So, why do so many democrats who voted for the war, swear that they're all against it?

Democrats are feckless cowards who believe that terrorism should be combatted in courts of law and the UN. They haven't got a clue when it comes to defending this country. This will become abundantly clear when a Democrat is elected to the White House and we are attacked again.

... well... first... is like 2 to 3 years quickly? not to most people?

but there were promises made by many individuals in the administration, most notably Cheney on meet the press... about the fact that Iraq DID HAVE WMD... and we knew EXACTLY WHERE... and we KNEW it would only take about 6 months... AND WE KNEW it would be relatively inexpensive... AND WE KNEW everyone would greet us as liberators...

who exactly was pushing the legislation... and who was saying these things?

if I tell you that I have a stock that I KNOW FOR SURE WILL GO UP... and you invest... trusting that I wouldn't lie to you on such a major issue... and you lose all your money...

is it your fault for being a fool and believing me? or my fault for lying to you about something I clearly had no idea about?

maybe it is the democrats fault for being a fool enough to believe the Republicans... and if that's the case... anyone who believes Republicans is a fool then...

but if it's not their fault for believing Republicans... then clearly it's the Republicans fault...

how is it not?

many promises were foolishly made... that, looking back on it, they clearly knew they didn't have a clue...

is there no responsibility for blatantly lying where U.S. soldiers lives are on the line for Republicans?

is this your moral party?

Probably because they learned the truth. There were no WMDs, Iraq was never a threat to the US. John Kerry did vote for it because like everyone else, he was fed lies about the purpose for going. When he voted against more money, it was because there was an enormous cash flow for Haliburton, which Cheney happened to own. that was the only reason he opposed that bill. Now, its not just the democrats. The majority of Americans are not happy with the progress being made in Iraq. This is because we are being led by pompous and arrogant people who think the Iraqi people would welcome us with open arms. I have been down that road before. It didn't work in Vietnam and it didn't work in Iraq. Don't we ever learn?

simple, they trusted Bush, as they should have been able to, considering he is the leader of the free world. They were wrong in trusting him and realized they made a mistake. A lot of people admit that they make mistakes and do something to right the mistake, unless you're a Republican...then you just deny and make up another useless bullshit reason why we invaded and then another and then another. After a while it starts to feel like the truth and people start to just accept it.

Use the intelligence God gave you and think!
Use the memory God gave you and recall the lies from the Bush administration as justification for war against and in Iraq!
Gee whiz...there ought to be a laws against people like you;

LAW #1
Anyone with selective amnesia should be drawn, quartered and
shot in the whites of their eyes

LAW #2
Anyone (w/age and gender presenting NO barrier) who voted for him and/or continues to support him should be forced to sign-up for active, military duty on the frontlines in Iraq!

LAW #3:
When the war is over and Bush has plunged the US into a financial crisis, anyone who voted for him and/or continues to support him should be forced to live out the remainder of their days earning minimum wage and paying extremely high prices for medical care and prescription drugs!

They were convinced by the lies and misinfromation supplied by Bush and Co. The difference is that once the truth came out (that there were no WMD's and attacking preemptively was unnecessary), the Rep's persisted in denying that the war was a bad idea, and that people were dying for no real good reason.

read the legislation that was passed, prior to the war, that gave Bush the authority to us force, and you'll know won't you?

its called, thinking you are voting on a strike IF checks are made, that showed Saddam was a threat to American security.
Bush took it as a liscense to drop bombs.

here allow me to draw you a picture.
little johny comes up to you at school, and punches you.
You go home crying to your parents that he hit you.
your parents tell you, if he hits you again, hit him back.
You go to school the next day and beat little johny up. when the principal asks you why, you say "my parents told me to hit him if he hits me. He hit me yesterday!"

that is exactly how the legislation involved with invading Iraq went, coupled with fradulaent nigeria papers, and the use of british intel, that conflicted with our own, even though it appears that our own was closer to correct!

Most people thought we had solid reasons to go after Saddam
Hussain and thought that the Iraqis would accept us as liberators.
The situation turned sour, so everybody ran in the opposite direction and didnt want to take any responsibility and placed all
the blame on Bush. A bunch of cowards if you ask me.

They're opportunists. Never mind that divisions within America and around the world made the job even harder.

If we had a united congress and Europe as an ally, this war would have been wrapped up by now. Dems have created a self-fulfilling prophesy, and our soldiers pay the price.

Bush lied to get the war. Democrats backed out when they realized he was lying. I thought it was a bunch of bunk from the very beginning, and thought we should finish our war in Afghanistan before we did anything else. I was more concerned with apprehending Osama, then going after a neutered dictator.

The reasons given for the war were at best "exaggerations" and at worst outright lies. I choose the latter and say Bush will burn for leading this country into hell. Why did we abandon the search for the only real threat to the US and the world, to pursue an irrelevant dictator who posed no harm and had been neutralized by years of sanctions?
