Sure. They look at your overall GPA. I've done bad in a subject and stopped taking it. They still accepted me because my overall GPA was past their cutoff mark as was my SAT score.

Why take a class you know you'll do bad in? I didn't even take calculus in college. They had other math courses I took to fulfill the math requirement.

That C- is gonna hurt enough when applying to UCSD and Berkeley. Davis isn't quite in their league, no matter how much I'd like to say so.

Getting into a high rate UC college in California requires a lot of different things, not just AP Calculus. If you have a good track record and have had good grades through out your High School career, then you should not HAVE to take the class, but it is still good. Colleges look good upon that class though, and even if you have a B in an AP Calculus class, it is still seen better than an A+ in a regular Calculus class. The choice is up to you.

GOOD LUCK!
I wish I could get into one of those schools!

If you already took a semester than it will look like you've given up, which is the case. Try getting a tutor or asking for help. If worst comes to worst, does your scholl offer honors or regular calculus? I know math can be a B*tch. If you're a cali resident than your chances will be better. P.S. Davis is the easiest to get into.

For UC Davis, call (530) 752-3710 on Monday. Talk to Rueben. It depends on if you have enough math.

If you really want to drop the class, ask him if you take it during the summer if you would still be admitted on time.
