I would tell them the honest truth, I cannot see myself tomorrow much less 3-5 years, I am here this day, and this day I shall do my best at whatever I do. This way I have no expectations of failure because I did my job to the best of my ability this day. If I were working this day for some unkown event 3 years away in some fantasy, then I would not be doing my best this day. The future is unwritten, if you can garuntee me that there will be a tomorrow, I will truthfully call you mistaken in the acceptance of the reality that is now.
Ok thats a little deep and may be seen as harsh, but it is honest and true, and that is what I expect of myself and any that I might wish to have near me.
