Ok people, I travel for my job and about 16 hours from home right now. I have another job 2 hours from here(2 hours closer towards home) right after this job. The problem is that the car started acting funny and would stop changing gears a lot. The speedometer would also go down to 0 while driving and the only way to fix it would be to stop the car, turn it off, and turn it back on. That would fix it some times, but most of the time it would still do the same thing. What do I do to fix this?

The output speed sensor is going bad. It is not an expensive part ($25) and it is a simple thing to replace. With labor it should be less than $100. When it goes bad, the transmission goes into "limp in" mode, and stays in 2nd gear.

A computer scan of the transmission computer will verify this!
