I might add that the Bill calls that it only goes up to $5.85 after 60 days of its passage then after one year then it will go up to $6.55 then a year later it will go up to $7.25. So its not like a sudden $2.10 raise right out of the gate....it is eventual.

Yes. I own what would be considered a "small business" and i couldnt sleep with myself at night if i only paid my employees $5.15 a hour. The talk of it would put the small business owner out is bull.

Yes, when you life anything you should lift from the bottom. This money will go back into the pockets of the rich anyway because minimum wage people spend. They buy things. This is the right way to expand the economy, and all the small business crybaby's, just raise your prices a nickel to pay for it.

I think it should have been raised gradually over the years, but the politicians pretty much blew that one. I have a neighbor that is 50 years old and lives on minimum wage. She works two jobs, and I never see her. Since the politicians have let it slide, now the consumer is going to pay for it. And yes, I do think it will affect the economy, but did you know that McDonald's only has to raise the price of their french fries 15 cents to pay the possible new minimum wages?

I don't think it should be raised. Locally, in Ohio we just raised ours from 5.15 to 6.85, and I think it was a bad move. I've been with my company for almost 4 years now, and was at 6.50 an hour. With this raise in minimum wage, 16yr olds off the street are making as much as I do, even with all of my experience.

Thank God the democrats are keeping their promises. This Poverty Wage would have never been increased under republican leadership. It says volumes about how little this group feels about the working poor of this country. They should have been voted out long before Iraq finally did the job.

no...it will just raise the price of many goods...due to cost raised for businesses to pay their employees...or businesses will slow down hiring or law off some workers...they minimum wage raise is just another democrat pandering to ignorant people...notice they called the people making minimum wage now the lowest paid harder working people in America...what will they say about illegals in the future...

No. Raising minimum wage is a very bad idea. It only helps inflation and economic stagnation. It also limits productivity. I personally think it should be abolished.

Rich getting tax cuts.

Congressmen giving themselves a raise.

It's time for the poor and disadvantaged to get something.

So I say yes.
