No! Pravda and Tass were government run news agencies, and Fox News has no government control at all. I believe Fox is trying to be an alternative the other three networks, and they succeed in that very well. While I don't always agree with them, it is nice to alternative viewpoints on television.

Seeing as the White House hired a regular from Fox news ( Fox News Sunday, Weekend Live, and often substituting as host of The O'Reilly Factor), Tony Snow as their Press Secretary, I'd say that's a fair assessment.

when you consider that they don't look, basically, "in league with the authorities" and when you consider that it has numerous competition, the answer must be no. "Communist New community" ..... my a55. CNN is the perfect, and is really fairer and bigger balanced than Fox.

No.Fox is the only major news organization in the U.S. that is balanced.Just because they don't always assume the U.S. is the bad guy and Republicans are always wrong as most other major Democratic house organs er I mean "news organizations"doesn't mean they are biased.
