This question is about who recieves world series rings. My best example is Allan Anderson, a very limited contributer in 87, did not make the post season roster. Blossomed in 1988, player well through 1990, but then fell off again in 1991 and was , again a limited contributer and left off the post season roster. Does he have 2 rings or zero? I know even "minor" front office people get rings ( I heard the Pro-Shop manager got one!), so do ALL the players on the roster that year get them? Just post season roster? Do they vote on it?

Oops, just realized I'm in the wrong section, oh well. Here's another sub question: Why are some people so bothered when you put a baseball question in the basketball section?! Hey bd, chill out! I'll write a damn basket weaving question here if I feel like it... dink.

Genrally, players vote on how the World Series money is split and the team management decides who gets a ring. They are usually pretty generous with the rings. I am aware of some players who were given rings who did not finish the season with the team, although they were regulars who contributed to the team's success before being traded late in the season..

I think if he was on the injured reserve during the postseason run, he pretty much will get a ring. If he wasnt on the roster but is in the bench supporting the team, then he should get one. One example is I went to see the Florida Marlins 2003 championship ring ceremony. there was more than 25 marlins players announced and to those who rarely played in the postseason ( I barely heard of them) got a ring.
