I've been tanning since I was in high school and that was the first thing I did after having all three of my kids. My stretch marks are not as noticeable as they were before I went. With my last baby I had to have a c-section and since going to the tanning bed I cannot see the scar at all. My sister asked to see mine because she had her c-section 2 months before I did and she couldn't believe it when I went to show her and seen that you can't even tell I ever had one. I healed very quickly from it to, which my doctor said was probably from the tanning bed. As a matter of fact none of my scars are noticeable after having been going to the tanning bed for so many years.

Tanning WILL reduce the appearance of stretch marks...but it is terribly unhealthy.
They make creams that you can pick up at the drugstore that you can use to lessen the effects of the stretchmarks.
Congrats on the baby!

I believe tanning makes the stretch marks darker along with the skin but im no exspert but there is a scar cream out there called Mederma its for scars like, acne, stetch marks, scars that may help with your stretch marks. It will take the cream about 2-3 months to work but I would try it out before you give up :) might be worth it

I have some stretchmarks on my breast and when I go tanning they become really white. They are scars of some kind and scars don't have melanin in them. When the rest of your body produces more melanin (you get a tan) the scars wont.

many factors affect the appearance of stretchmarks. they do fade in time. your skin tone and genes also. there are good fade creams you can buy at your local pharmacy. AVON sells a good fade cream as well. if you want to tan, go ahead! it will make you feel better about yourself. just take precautions with your skin and your eyes. remember in tanning beds, you are literally "cooking" the top layer of skin. to keep the tan looking good, moisturize and drink alot of water. good luck!

they will look the same if you are tan or not. the stretch marks will tan along with the rest of your skin, but you will still be able to see them just as much as you can now.

My girlfriend says "emu oil, rub emu oil to help reduce the appearance of them" and "tanning has always helped my stretch marks" (she just has a big booty though)

I HAVE HAD 3 BABYS AND I HAVE NONE. I WAS TERRIFIED OF GETTING THEM. SO TO PREVENT THEM YOU HAVE HAD TO KEEP SKIN VERY OILY AND NOT SCRATHCH WHEN YOU GROW. CAUSE AS THE SKIN GETS TAUHGT AND TIGHT AS IT GROWS, YOU WILL WANT TO SCRATCH CAUSE IT ITCHES.
I TOOK ALOT OF OIL BATHS AND USED ALOT OF BABY OIL ON MY SKIN EVERY DAY. NOW.... ITS STILL NOT TOO LATE FOR YOU HONEY. DEPENDING ON HOW DEEP THEY ARE AND HOW RED OR PURPLE OR JUST STRETCHED YOU ARE. DO THE SAME THING I SAYED ABOVE NOW AND CONTINUE TO DO SO AND YES, THE ANSWER IS YES ,SOME STRETCH MARKS WILL TAN. TRY TO FIND COCOA BUTTER. AS YOU LOSE YOUR BABY FAT STAY MOIST. KEEP SKIN SOFT AND RUB DONT SCRATCH.USE THESE TIPS FOR FUTURE BABYS TOO.

Tanning is always bad for your skin. It prevents your skin from repairing itself. Also, you will lose elasticity.
