The skill is THE ART OF COMMUNICATION.
People need to learn how to talk, listen, intrepid and understand information wither it is written, printed, said and so on no matter how it maybe transmitted to them. But there is only one minor problem. It will require perfection all the way around and it will never happen on the face of the earth because someone will always misunderstand something.
Examples runneth over just on this sight alone. Check for misspelling, improper phrasing and so on. Even my answer is not perfect and I know it.

From reading these questions, I would say a grasp of proper use of the language. The poor grammar and syntax used on this site is painful to read, and makes me wonder if anyone is at all concerned with giving an impression of ignorance.
For instance, your question should read: "What is a skill few people have that everyone needs to master?"
There is a spellcheck button right there, but that can only go so far. Sorry, but spelling DOES count, clear communication DOES make a difference, and looking uneducated DOES affect the impression you give.
