Yes. Not overnight, but yes. Assuming we are talking about the U.S. or most of Europe, by and large we have freedom. We can write books, make websites, join organizations, call our elected representatives, write articles, support candidates whose views we agree on, debate issues and get others to see our point of view. Nobody is claiming the fix will happen overnight, but changes WILL occur. A large part of it is to educate our children as best we can. They will not make our mistakes.

Only if the "we" you described could be as organized and influential as special interest groups that benefit from a broken government.

It's funny how voters usually elect a person to office who offers "change". Few offer to "fix" anything.

Nope...because every government is made up of regular, run -of-the-mill people. People are prone to shortcomings like greed and envy...no one is above it. Honest man cannot be elected unless they are ready to commit suicide. All governments eventually crumble.
