I am applying for an internship in the conservation field. Most of the internships i have looked at involve educating about the environment, researching, backpacking...etc
As i was filling out the application a question was - Have you taken courses or have extensive experience with Biology, Botany, Geology...etc I am a sophomore in collage and have only taken one Bio course, so I can’t mark anything.
Also it had a skills section where asked -Do you have experience with or skills with camping, backpacking, identifying plants etc...I have experience with camping but only family things, so I really don’t have much experience at all. I was hoping to use this intern to gain experience; do you think they will even consider me?
-Thank you

I think that they will look at your application, and noting that you are still gaining experience through college education, they may consider your application. If there is an applicant better qualified for the position, then you may be denied this first year, but there is always next year. I'm sure that they will keep your application on file until the next internship becomes available. Maybe explain to them that you would like to use this intership as a learning experience, and if they see that you are really serious, then the opportunity may come knocking at your door.

Be honest, they may consider you. Explain you have the Bio course and your limited camping experience. Outline your future plans in school and why you are seeking the internship. Also indicate your willingness to learn and try new things.

Just explain that you dont have a lot of experience but you really want to learn. Also, isn't the point of an internship to gain experience and learn.

Submit it and see what happens. It may depend on who else applies.
